Rome Luggage Storage Information

Luggage storage in Rome

If you’ve chosen to rent a place for your visit to Rome instead of staying at a hotel, you might be concerned about your luggage. While renting has many advantages, it typically doesn’t offer the same flexibility as hotels for dropping off your bags early or leaving them after checkout before your flight.

Rest assured, there are several options and private companies in Rome to store your luggage, ensuring your belongings are secure while you explore the city’s attractions. These spots are across the whole city, with the vast majority situated in the city centre, which is handy for travellers.

Here are a few of the best luggage storage options in Rome.

Rome Luggage Storage Top Pick – Stasher

If you’re looking for luggage storage in Rome the best option is Stasher. I’ve used them on several occasions across different cities in Europe and never had any issues.

– Currently there are 157 Stasher locations across Rome, including hotels in the centre of Rome
– Free Cancellation, 24/7 support and can pay via card/apple pay online
– All bags are insured against loss, theft & damage
– Cost is only €4.75 per bag (View Locations and Book Stasher Storage Online)

Luggage Storage Rome Termini Station

There is only one luggage storage facility inside Rome Termini Train Station managed by the private company Kipoint, which is preset in numerous major train stations throughout Italy. You can easily find it on the right side of the station, following the ‘Deposito Bagagli’ signs.

However, I found that they were considerably pricier than other options located just a few steps outside the station, such as the Stasher points, and the feedback wasn’t as positive either. The cost for one bag is €20 per 24 hours.

Unlike other luggage storage services, this one isn’t available 24/7 (working hours are 7:00AM – 9:00PM) and they don’t seem to have a smooth online booking system which may be handy when you don’t master the language.

Unfortunately, none of the other train stations in Rome offer luggage storage services inside, although they have numerous Stasher points nearby.

Luggage Storage Rome Fiumicino (FCO) Airport

A luggage storage facility is available at Rome Fiumicino (FCO) Airport in the Terminal 3 (near door number 6), which is the International Arrivals building.

It operates daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and the cost is €10 per 24 hours. You will be able to find it following the Deposito Bagagli signs. No reservation is required; simply arrive and make payment upon collection.

Museums and Landmarks Cloakrooms: If you plan to spend your day at one of Rome’s many museums or landmarks, you can also use their cloakroom to store your luggage. However, I’d personally check beforehand if this is an option as some places may not offer this service.
